Empowering Health, Sustainability, and Personal Dignity at Adum Correctional Facility
On october 16th 2026, we had our second project under the 'Period. Purpose. Education' intiative.
TRCF visited the Adum Correctional Facility in Kumasi to support 40 resident women with essential wellness supplies, personal care items, and interactive health education.
Knowing how easily individuals can feel overlooked in facility settings, our goal was simple yet profound: to ensure every single woman feels seen, valued, chosen, and deeply loved. Through sustainable hygiene solutions and empowering workshops, we brought immediate relief, long-term personal dignity, and vital health education to the community.
Sustainable Recycled Bags: Every woman received a durable TRCF Tote Bag made from recycled materials, offering an eco-friendly, long-lasting storage solution over single-use plastic or paper.
Individual Ownership: Gifting each woman her own complete Health & Beauty Kit ensured fair access, prevented conflicts over shared items, and restored personal dignity.
Essential Care Supplies: Each bag included 1 Mini Bible, 1 Menstrual Cup, 4 Packs of Disposable Pads, 2 Reusable Pads, Hair Oil, Body Lotion, Bathing Soap, Washing Powder, Tissues, and a Comb.
Interactive Education: Workshops featured breast cancer awareness and self-exam guidance, reusable menstrual product demonstrations, hair care tips, and words of encouragement.
40 Women Uplifted: Provided every woman in the program with essential health supplies and personal dignity.
Sustainable Hygiene Care: Combined immediate disposable supplies with reusable products (pads and cups) for long-term hygiene independence.
Health Education: Equipped participants with lifesaving knowledge on breast self-awareness and proper hygiene maintenance.
Environmental Responsibility: Diverted waste by using recycled fabrics for custom tote bags, offering a durable alternative to single-use plastics.
